Giant upset best Super Bowl ever?

As an impartial fan (I don’t root for neither the New England Patriots nor the New York Giants) I have to say that Super Bowl XLII could easily be ranked among the Top 3 Super Bowls of all time and makes a strong case for the best Super Bowl ever.

Probably the only Super Bowl that I can recall that may be better than this one could be Super Bowl XXIII between the San Francisco 49ers and the Cincinati Bengals.

That game is remembered for the 49ers’ fourth-quarter game-winning drive. That day San Francisco was down 16-13 and the ball on their own eight yard line with 3:10 on the clock. The 49ers marched 92 yards down the field in under three minutes. They then scored the winning touchdown on a Joe Montana pass to John Taylor with just 34 seconds left in the game.

The difference is that the 49ers were actually the favorites by seven points  in that Super Bowl so having them winning wasn’t as shocking as seeing the Giants defeat a record-breaking Patriots team looking to make history.

Super Bowl tickets for as much as $19400?

The Associated Press reported today that tickets for Super Bowl XLII between the New York Giants and New England Patriots cost as much as $19446, and that the average price so far is $4300. The incredible part is that football fans so far seem to be willing to pay those prices even when the NFL originally priced those tickets at $700 or $900NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy, who seems resigned to the fact that the league is mostly powerless to stop the profitable turnover of tickets, said to the Associated Press that the face value of their tickets was underpriced based on demand and what people are willing to pay.

Furthermore the Associated Press reported that  the average price of Super Bowl tickets has been going up every year, so probably we should not be surprised about this. Tickets for last year’s game between the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolist Colts averaged $4,004. That was sharply higher than the Pittsburgh Steelers-Seattle Seahawks in 2006 at $3,009, the Philadelphia Eagles-Patriots in 2005 at $2,659, the Patriots-Carolina Panthers in 2004 at $2,290, and the Oakland Raiders-Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2003 at $2,767.

So if you do want to go to the Super Bowl but you don’t want to pay as much, there still is time and there are many tickets left. Check out the price of these Super Bowl tickets here. And if you’re looking for corporate packages you may want to check out this site. Good luck!

Super Bowl Tickets Giveaway!!!

With only 3 weeks to go in the regular season and teams already clinching playoff berths, one can’t help but make Super Bowl predictions. Now I’ve been saying this for weeks, and any of my friends who probably weren’t paying attention can attest to it, that it’s going to be Packers and Patriots. The Patriots are going to be undefeated going into the Super Bowl and they will have to face the one man who has had a date with destiny all year - Brett Favre. And guess what? The Packers are going to win. The teams that have played close with the Pats this year - Indy, Philly, and Baltimore, have exposed weak spots in the Patriots. First off, you need a great performance from your quarterback. Not a problem. Second, you need shutdown corners. Enter Charles Woodson and Al Harris. Third, you need pressure on Tom Brady (preferably without blitzing). The Packers starting defensive line has combined for over 28 sacks. So I just want everyone to be clear on who they heard this from first - the Packers are going to defeat the Patriots in the Super Bowl (unless the Colts do it first).

Getting tickets to the Super Bowl is a whole other story. I imagine that every fan in Boston is salivating over seeing both a World Series victory and a Super Bowl victory in the same year (and then possibly going for the trifecta with the Celtics). Anyone who isn’t a Pats fan is still dying to go just for the chance to see history. Plus, it’s the Super Bowl, who wouldn’t want to go? Well, Jim Kelly probably doesn’t want to go, he HATES the Super Bowl. But you love it…

For you lucky sports bloggers out there, Tickets of America is offering a chance for one of you to win 2 tickets to the Super Bowl. That is not a misprint. Here is how you do it: First, write an article on your blog of at least 100 words talking about the Super Bowl. You can talk about it in any capacity that you like as long as the Super Bowl is the main topic. Second, put the link www.ticketsofamerica.com/super-bowl-tickets somewhere in the article. Finally, so that we know that you have posted your article, put a comment on this blog with the URL of the article you have written. Once you’ve done that, you are entered into the contest. Then there will be a drawing sometime in January for one winner who will be rewarded with TWO FREE TICKETS TO THE SUPER BOWL. Everyone say it together now, “We love you, Tickets of America.”

*If you have any questions about the contest, please take a look at the website at www.ticketsofamerica.com/giveaway

My First Few Words

First, I have arrived, long-awaited and demanded such as those first couple of sideline Super Bowl tickets I sold back in February. Already in May and talking about the Super Bowl? Tickets of America’s biggest event is back. And for all you bloggers, I can make that dream come true right now. You can be part of the Super Bowl today. Sunny Glendale, Arizona couldn’t be any closer. I can make that a reality for any of you out there.

But before that, let’s focus on what I came here for. I came to entertain the bloggers in the world with my first few words here at Tickets of America. German, that’s the name, and to answer your first question, no, I don’t speak German nor am I from Germany. “I am the Man, not the language!”

I became a sports enthusiast thanks to the art and beauty of Michael Jordan’s game. Remember the night he dragged Cleveland’s Craig Ehlo all over the court en route to that infamous winning shot? Wish I had tickets for that game…

I must have been 7 at the time and already at that age I stayed out late watching SportsCenter (my favorite TV program)

Marino, Montana to Rice, Stockton to Malone, Ripken’s streak, Tyson/Douglas in Japan, them early 90’s Cowboys teams and on and on. You name it.

I’ve followed those events closely….the sports world is my heaven! Too bad I didn’t have tickets to any of those great events throughout the years.

But karma comes back as usual, and I’m here at Tickets of America now, satisfying the emptiness of my fellow sports enthusiasts nationwide since 2006.

I can get you seating to any sporting and entertainment event across the country. And as I complete this task, I’ll make sure we have a great sports talk, as well as give you helpful advice in your search for premium tickets and hospitality packages for any event.

Not a fan of any team in particular, but a fan of the reality of your favorite sports team. I’m here to share my thoughts, experiences and my views with all y’all.

And with my first blog I welcome you to Tickets of America, White Glove International and the Blog Zone! I’m sure we’ll have a great blog and business relationship!
