Kentucky ready to welcome 37th Ryder Cup

The 37th Ryder Cup will take place from September 16 to September 21 at the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. Held every two years the Ryder Cup stages the best European golf players matching up against the best American golfers.

In 2006 the 36th Ryder Cup Matches were held between September 22 and September 24, 2006 at The K Club in Ireland. Team Europe won the competition by a score of 18½ to 9½, equaling their record winning margin of 2 years earlier and giving Europe its third Ryder Cup victory in a row for the first time ever.

United States captain Paul Azinger completed his 12-man Ryder Cup roster Sept. 2 by selecting Steve Stricker, Hunter Mahan, J.B. Holmes and Chad Campbell.

They  join the eight automatic qualifiers who made the team by virtue of their standing on the U.S. Ryder Cup Points List, which was set last month after the 90th PGA Championship. The list included: Phil Mickelson, Stewart Cink, Kenny Perry, Jim Furyk, Anthony Kim, Justin Leonard, Ben Curtis and Boo Weekley.

On the other side European captain Nick Faldo 12 chosen players are: captains picks Paul Casey and Ian Poulte, and automatic qualifiers Sergio Garcia, Soren Hansen, Padraig Harrington, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Robert Karlsson, Graeme McDowell, Justin Rose, Henrik Stenson, Lee Westwood and Oliver Wilson.

The Europeans have won four of the last five and seven of the last 10, with one tie. The last two have come by record margins, with the Europeans posting back-to-back 18.5 to 9.5 wins.

Super Bowl 2008

I know many of you think it’s a little early to begin thinking about the Super Bowl, but it is only 8 months away, and for an event like this one there is no such thing as too early. There are many great reasons to go to the Super Bowl, even if your team doesn’t make it there.

According to some figures, it is the single largest sporting event in world, in actual attendance and television viewers, with the possible exception of the World Cup Final. Estimates for the number of viewers are somewhere around 100 million worldwide. With numbers like these it is no wonder the Super Bowl is one of the greatest parties and experiences of all times. Next year’s will be no exception. It is going to be held in the brand new University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ, a suburb of Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe.

The Phoenix Metro area has something to offer anyone looking to enjoy all of Super Bowl weekend, not just the game. Whether you’re interested in all the various Super Bowl parties i.e. the Playboy Party, the Maxim Party or the Hawaiian Tropic Party or you simply want to play some golf at some world class courses for which the Metro area is famous.

Phoenix and Scottsdale have some great nightlife year round, but it will even be better during the Big Weekend. If parties are your thing you will not be disappointed in the least by what the Valley of the Sun has to offer, especially in Scottsdale, which would be my choice for where to stay when in town. Scottsdale is where most of the action will be leading up the Game.

It is close to Sky Harbor International Airport, as well as two or three private airports, should you decide to go super high class by chartering a private jet or flying your own. Scottsdale is also where most of the top end hotels are located, which I can help you get. Hotels like the The Mondrian, where our Game day Hospitality is located, The Phoenician, The Westin Kierland Resort and Spa, The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess and many more.

For those who would like to do a little golfing, February is a great time to hit the links the week before The Game. The weather will be perfect, it always is, and there are over 174 public and private courses in the Metro area, some of them rated top in the world by Golf Digest. For all you golf fans the FBR Open is also in town Super Bowl weekend. This will be, without a doubt, a huge week for sports, one you don’t want to miss.

Tickets of America and White Glove International can get you to both these great events as well as get hotel rooms, book Game day hospitality, charter a private jet, basically set up your whole week and take all the stress off you so your trip will be unforgettable. Feel free to give me a call or send me an email with questions, or if you prefer we now have a live chat window on our website, www.ticketsofamerica.com, that I monitor all day long. Let me know how I can help set up your dream sports vacation.

WGI presents The Masters “A Whole Package In One”

I follow most major sports more or less, but I won’t pose, through prose, as a golf observer. I’m not. I played nine painful holes at a country club once, my fair share of putt putt, and the PGA tour video game a couple of times. That’s the extent of my golf experience. My knowledge of the game is elementary. I do know that a birdie in golf does not mean a little bird. I may not be the Tiger Woods of golf commentary, but I can declare, without a doubt, that the Masters is an event that transcends the game itself. It’s one of the most prestigious sporting events in the world. So before I scribble a few rebarbative lines of promotional copy to provoke a sense of urgency in you to buy a Masters hospitality package, I’ll say it plain. Check out our Masters Packages, buy the package and experience this lovely event to the fullest. The rest is up to you. Here’s a sample of The 2007 Masters package delivered by White Glove International
