
It’s three weeks into the NFL season and for some, it’s time to hit the panic button already. Every New Orleans Saint on Monday was pretty much quoted as saying “It’s not time to panic.” What this means to me is, it’s time to panic. And that’s fine. A lot of good stuff has come out of panicking. Every time that Forrest Gump panicked, he started running, and look how well that turned out for him. These NFL teams just have to figure out how to deal with panicking in their own way. The results can be astounding.

Why: This team has hit reality. They are no longer good because they were never good to begin with. Their defense can’t stop anyone, they lost their workhorse running back for the season, Drew Brees is coming back to earth, and Reggie Bush is overrated.

Formula One team McLaren has been fined $100 million and has been stripped from their constructor points for allegedly using technical secret information from the Ferrari team. The situation began when secret documents were found at the house of Mike Coughlan - who is the teams chief designer- -now suspended of course- apparently handed to him by Nigel Stepney Ferrari’s former mechanic. This represent a huge blow to McLaren as they were leading the table by 23 points ahead of Ferrari.

Veteran receiver Randy Moss who was acquired from the Oakland Raiders in the offseason, caught one of three touchdown passes from quarterback Tom Brady to help the New England Patriots beat the New York Jets 38-14 on the opening Sunday of the NFL season. The wide receiver hauled in nine passes for 183 yards and a score on a 51-yard play-action pass from Brady.
Brady who completed 22 of 28 passes for 297 yards and three touchdowns, praised Moss’s performance.

With the trashing of the visiting New Orleans Saints (41-10), the NFL Super Bowl champions the Indianapolis Colts began the new NFL season on Thursday. Peyton Manning completed 18 of 30 pass attempts for 288 yards and three touchdowns, including two for New Orleans born receiver Reggie Wayne.
With the smirk of a job well done Manning said “This is just one game, it takes 16 games, It sure was a good start but that’s all it is.” Manning is trying to become the first player in NFL history to score 25 touchdown passes in 10 consecutive seasons. Read more

Oh well, my US Open American dream is over!. With the exit of Andy Roddick in 3 sets 6-7, 6-7, 2-6 -by swiss player and world’s # 1 Roger Federer-, America hopes for an Open win are over…at list in the men’s finals. Even though Andy was fired-up and produced some of his best tennis ever it proved not enough to threaten the phenomenal display by Federer in the US Open quarter final.
This is not saying he has no future in tennis, but like Pete Sampas said once - “Andy’s close, but he’s not quite there,” and “The guys (Federer and Nadal) are getting better and they’re younger. Andy’s going to have to get it going. The next few years are key for him. Read more
