Justine Henin could turn the tables at the US Open

Top women´s tennis player Justin Henin Hardenne of Belgium would like to reverse the outcome of the US Open Final in 2006 at this year´s tournament.

Last year, the 25-year-old Belgian lost to Maria Sharapova in straight sets. Henin has appeared in eight US Opens and won the 2003 title.
Justine Henin was born in Leige, Belgium on June 1, 1982, the same day as the Roland Garros quarterfinals that year.
She was first exposed to tennis during her infancy. She played at a local tennis club just a few feet from her home. At five-years-old, she began to spend entire summers developing her game.

A year later, she joined another Tennis Club where she began to train and compete. To advance her skills, she joined the French Tennis Federation and later a private program at the Tennis Club Geronsart with Gabriel Gonzalez. In 1995, Justine met current coach Carlos Rodriguez, who has guided her to become the top female player in the world. In 1997, after winning the Orange Bowl junior´s championship and junior´s at Roland Garros, Justine realized her potential to play tennis full-time.

She left school and decided to go pro in 1999. She made her professional debut in the Fed Cup with the Belgian national team.Throughout her successful career, she won the Australian Open in 2004, four French Open Titles along with her US Open title in 2003.

At just 5 feet 5 inches, Henin has held the no. 1 ranking consistently and has a career record of 384-90. In 2007, she has won 43 matches with 4 losses.

Henin has earned a total of $16,289,729 in career prize money and $2,716,410 in 2007.

She currently resides in Marloie, Belgium.
